Choosing a dog bed...

Dog beds... A soft, comfortable place for your dog to sleep!

You may be asking yourself, "Why does my dog need a special bed? Isn't a soft blanket enough?" Well, in some cases, it may be enough. If you have a small dog, and live in an area that is warm year-round, then a thick, soft, blanket may be enough. We still suggest, however, investing in a dog bed.

Just like us humans, dogs enjoy a quality dog bed. Why? The same reasons we do! Comfort, warmth, support, security, and a soft place to sleep. A dog bed should be at the top of anyone's list when they purchase things for their new dog. The benefits of a quality dog bed will far outweight the cost.

Another benefit is personal space. Just like a crate, a dog bed can provide your pooch with a sense of safety and security. A dog bed will give them a place to call their own, a place they can curl up and relax, when they're outside of the crate.

A good, quality dog bed, will cushion and support your dog. This is especially important for older dogs, and dogs with bone and joint problems. If you dog haship dysplasia or arthritis,  you need to get them a dog bed! We highly suggest a heated bed for dogs that suffer from those maladies. Heated beds will help to keep an animal's bones and joints warm while they sleep. Cold beds can lead to stiff muscles and joints, and can cause your arthritic dog even more pain.

Dog beds can help control shedding and dander problems. By providing your dog with its own bed, you give it a "main" place in which the majority of shedding and dander issues will be contained. Reversible bolster beds are a great idea, as they provide an extra sleep surface, in case you don't have time to clean the bed after a major shedding session.

Believe it or not, dog beds can help with injury prevention. If you do not crate your dog while you're away from the house, your dog is likely to sleep on your bed, or the couch. By providing your pooch with his own bed, you are helping to keep him from jumping up and down off of high surfaces, and potentially preventing injury.

Let's not forget about protection from the elements! That's right. For an outdoor dog, a good dog bed is crucial! Outdoor beds are touch, water repellent, easy to clean, and specially treated to prevent mold and mildew. By giving your outdoor dog his own bed, you're giving him a soft, warm, dry place to sleep.

Spend some time looking over the availible beds, and decide which is right for your dog. I guarentee that once you choose a bed for your dog, you will not regret it. Your dog will be happier, healthier, and will sleep better. Treat your dog to a comfy place to snooze!
